The world we live in today is fast paced, stressful and demanding on our mind, emotions & body. Along with us for the ride are our animal friends. They are there with us through good times and bad, through the joy and the pain.
Since we are all connected by energy, how humans think, feel and act can affect the animals they live and work with. When we are nervous or upset, our animal friends can become nervous or upset. When we are calm and happy, our animal friends can relax in our joy.
Animals want their human caretakers to be happy because they love us and also their domesticated survival depends on our being able to lead them and care for them properly.
If animals sense that their human friend is upset, sometimes in an attempt to improve the situation for us/them, they may choose to take on that which in their opinion seems to be too much for the human to deal with. Many guardians have reported to me that they feel their stress level or emotional upsets were affecting their animal friends.
This dynamic can become even more serious when the human is denying their feelings surrounding their life upsets. In an attempt to help the human the animal may choose to “absorb” their human’s feelings and actually attempt to process the pain for them. I have met many animals who are choosing to do this regularly and as a result are becoming imbalanced on all levels; in some cases, leading to behavioral problems, illness and even disease over time.
Animals will often reflect back to us what needs healing within ourselves. They are our mirrors and we need only have the courage to look in them. By bringing our awareness to our own emotional state and processing our own upsets we help the animals to live a happier healthier life with us and we ourselves also move into a healthier state of being. There is a beautiful dual healing process that unfolds.

Energy work helps animals to possibly release human emotions that they have absorbed into their energy field. It also assists them in feeling more grounded in who they are as individuals, which thereby protects them from being deeply affected by the ups and downs of human life going on around them.
