“Look deep into the eyes of any animal, and then for a moment, trade places,
their life becomes as precious as yours and you become as vulnerable as them.
All animals deserve our respect and our protection, for in a way, they are us,
  and we are them.”

Energy Healing for Horses

Horses are wild prey animals attempting in earnest to live a domesticated life with humans. They are gentle souls inside of enormous beautiful bodies and it is because of this, in my opinion that they are the most misunderstood of all animals. Getting to know these gentle giants has been one of my life’s most profound and rewarding experiences both personally and professionally.

Horses tend to be less domesticated than some of our other animal friends. Dogs and cats for instance, live in regular close proximity to their humans often eating, sleeping and spending a large amount of time with them. As a result, these animals become easily acclimated to human energies (in some cases, even taking on the same energetic characteristics as their human family).

Horses on the other hand, spend the majority of their time in nature and in confined areas with other horses or alone. As a result, their energy fields are much clearer and tend to be more sensitive to any human energy that does come around them. The clear, sensitive energy fields of our equine friends, can greatly benefit from the gentle non-invasive healing capabilities of energy healing. In my experience, horses are deeply appreciative of any energy healing that is offered to them and I have seen energy healing help horses of all ages and circumstances tremendously.

As prey animals horses “need” to feel safe and secure; this is of utmost importance to them. In this day and age equines are subject to many domesticated situations that can make them feel insecure or unbalanced, such as confined living spaces, lack of horse companionship, unnatural feeding schedules, automotive traveling, training/performance pressure, abrupt herd separations, etc.

Energetic imbalances in our equine friends can lead to behavioral issues, pain, and overtime even illness or disease. Energy healing works gently to help horses feel more balanced on all levels; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. When horses feel a sense of overall balance in their body and their lives, they feel safe.

Equine / Human Bond

Horses have huge heart centers and family is very important to them, this includes their human family.

Equine energy healing can be a beautiful experience in deepening the bond between horse and guardian. When combined with animal communication it bridges the gaps of misunderstanding that may exist between these beings, allowing each to feel more understanding of each other’s views and feelings.

When working with horses I generally work closely with their horse guardians to help them become more aware of the energetic exchanges that are going on between them and their horse friends. In many cases, once these exchanges are brought out into the open, both horse and human can move into a more harmonious “partnership” based on a deeper level of love, respect and trust for one another.

Our horse friends are so deeply appreciative when we offer them this beautiful gift of healing because essentially we are saying to them. “I care to listen and understand who you really are beneath the big beautiful exterior I see before me. I want to understand what your needs, wants and desires are in this life with me.”

Every horse has been my teacher; not only teaching me new things about the equine body, mind and spirit, but also always something new about myself. I extend my deepest gratitude to them all, they hold a special place in my heart.
